June 2016
State Factsheets
Homeless Children, Adults, and Families &
Needed Shelter Beds – 2014
September 19, 2015
These State Factsheets describe the number of unaccompanied homeless children, unaccompanied homeless young adults, adult individuals, and adults and children in families and the number of additional beds needed to assist all of the homeless persons on a given night in January 2014. To identify the number of additional beds needed, we analyzed the data on the number of unsheltered homeless persons in each Continuum of Care (CoC) area and the number of unoccupied total beds at each shelter project in each CoC. This information shows where additional resources are needed so that unsheltered homelessness can be eliminated.
